Synopsis

1941. Zina is 17. She is a school graduate who plays in amateur theater and flirts with guys. Even a German teacher, the director of amateur theater, has a thing for her. Wonderful age and a wonderful life ahead! But the beginning of the war turns the whole world of the young woman upside down. The man she loves leaves to fight in the line and they have only one fatal meeting ahead. Her close friend gets into a fearful mess and she has to work for Germans in order to save his life. A fascist gives her a job but demands a humiliating payment for it. Zina worthily goes through the black ordeals of War and finally welcomes the victory, but life continues to test her. Only love gives strength to the young woman. And this is only one destiny of many other Russian women who went through the horrors of The Second World War...
